Description

The Makalu Base Camp trek is one of the most preferred treks for those who enjoy being with nature and love to explore various cultures. The trek starts in warm, terraced farmland inhabited by the Rai people, an ethnic group of eastern Nepal. The route then takes you through the rhododendron forest which looks best during the spring. This trek is heavenly and very soothing to the souls of the travelers. When entering deeper into the mountains you will pass through steep cliffs, beautiful waterfalls, dissimilar landscapes and icy glaciers.

From Makalu Base Camp there are spectacular views of the rarely seen Kangshung face of Everest, as well as Lhotse, Chamlang, and Kanchenjunga in the far east. The spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) trekking seasons are the best times for the Makalu Base Camp trek, as the weather is likely to be the finest and the temperatures are good (particularly at low and mid-elevations).The highest point of the trek is Makalu Base Camp at 5,050m.  According to trekkers, Makalu trek is very

intense and physically challenging yet one of the most authentic and quiet trails.
