Ghorepani Trek Description


Ghorepani circuit trek is one of Nepal’s most classic short treks. It is the shortest yet fulfilling and beautiful journey. It is also the most popular short trekking adventure in nepal. Ghore pani is home to an incredible eight of the world’s 14 highest mountains which makes it even more special. This trek is also known as the Annapurna Sunrise Trek and it includes the famous challenge at Ulleri where there are more than 3000 stone steps to ascend.Ghorepani is a small village which is 3000 meters in elevation. This trail passes through beautiful local villages, Rhododendron forest,surreal views of Nepal’s most famous peaks(Dhaulagiri,nilgiri,annapurna 1 and annapurna south). spring(march-may) and autumn(september-november) is considered as the favorable time to join this adventure, but you can join this trek during all 4 seasons depending on your convenient time. This trekking point is known to be one of the most beautiful sunrise viewpoints in nepal. This exciting journey starts from Tikhedhunga, Taking the trekkers all the way to Nayapul. This trekking route has become a favorite trekking spot for many trekkers because of its easy routes and display of surreal views. This Circuit attracts any age group particularly good for families with children. If you are a beginner hiker or trekker this Ghorepani Circuit Trek is a must-do once in your lifetime.



Itinerary for Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

Days

Company staff will be there at the airport to receive the clients and company’s private vehicle comes to pick up at the Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and drops you at Hotel.

Company will brief you about the trip plan and preparation, safety & precaution as well as completes the procedure of necessary documentation. After the briefing, if you are interested, you get optional sightseeing activities.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from Hotel to Airport then fly to pokhara. During the flight you will get an opportunity to experience beautiful mountain vistas to the Northern horizon, beautiful forests, valleys and rivers down below, which makes your trip very exciting. After an amazing half an hour’s flight we land at Pokhara from where we drive to Naya Pool by local vehicle then we begin our trek to Hile / Tikhedhunga for about 3 hours. During the trek we pass the tourist checkpoint at Birethanti the road gently climbs to our destination.

After crossing the suspention bridge near Tikhedunga, steep ascend with over 3000 steps on the stone staircase leading up to Ulleri village. Above Ulleri and coming out of the forest, the trail is less steep, crossing pastures and fields. Passing Banthanti village we head on to Ghorepani where we spend the night. From the village, already we may enjoy several mountain views including Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchchhre (Mt. Fishtail 6997m).

Early morning we hike for about an hour up to Poon Hill (3210m) to watch the mountain glow over the surrounding Himalayas. With the sip of hot tea, we may enjoy an amazing scene of a huge array of mountains. Such as Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Lamjung Himal and Machhapuchchhre (Fishtail). After spending enough time with beautiful panoramic mountain glow or sunrise, we head back down to the lodge in Ghorepani for a well-deserved breakfast before heading to Tadapani. The trail heads towards Tadapani which begins with quite steep until we cross the Deurali Pass. From the Deurali Pass we get another chance to see the mountains we saw from Poon Hill. Overnight stay in Tadapani.

Today it’s a shorter trek, giving us plenty of time to explore Ghandruk, one of the largest Gurung villages. Having time to visit the Gurung Cultural Museum gives us an insight of the lives of the people of that region. The village is dominated by the Gurungs who are very popular and loyal to Gurkha soldiers in both British and Indian armies.

After having final breakfast of our trek we walk down through a few villages to reach Nayapul then we take a bus or jeep to go to Pokhara. At Pokhara we can enjoy the beautiful evening view on the (Fewa Taal) lakeside with delicious food and drinks.

Pokhara is very touristic city of Nepal so today we will have full day sightseeing activities such as Boating on Fewa lake, visit to Peace Pogoda, Mahendra bridge, Caves, British Gurkha Museum, International Mountain Museum, Tibetan refugee camp, Devy’s fall etc.

Fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara, pick up from the airport and drop off at hotel. You will have free time in afternoon for walking around the city and buying souvenirs. You will be treated with the farewell dinner in the evening in a local restaurant.

On the sightseeing day, we take you to Bhaktapur Durbar square, Patan Durbar square, Pashupatinaath temple and Bauddhanaath stupa.

We help you prepare for your departure on this day and escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport on time for you to catch your flight. A private vehicle comes to pick up from hotel and drops you at Tribhuvan International Airport.
