After landing at Tenzing-Hilary airport you will meet your porter who will carry your luggage. You then begin your journey with a relatively easy trek passing a Kani we see the Chaurikharka village down below. We then continue to Cheplung village where the trail passes through community forest within sight of the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the suspension bridge you climb across the ridge to Ghat and then after a short walk from Ghat, we reach Phakding.

4

Today we trek through the valley with the Dudh Kosi River at our side. On several occasions, you cross the Dudh Kosi River on suspension bridges before climbing higher, reaching the small village of Jorsalle in the Khumbu region – just south of Namche Bazaar. After a two hour trek, you will finally reach Namche with some fascinating views along the way, including some spectacular views of captivating Mt. Everest, Tabuche peak. You enter the Sagarmatha National Park at Jorsalle where authorities will check your license. Continuing on for another 5 or 6 hours of fairly hard going we arrive at Namche Bazaar.

5

It is essential that we acclimatize before heading to higher altitudes. Health authorities vigorously recommend that you stay active and keep moving during this period. We will take a short trek to Khunde and Khumjung villages. We can also explore Namche Bazaar, the hub of the Everest Khumbu region. If we are here on either Friday evening or on Saturday we will get to see the regular weekly market. Your guide may also take you higher up the mountain-side to the Tourist Visitor Centre near to the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park. It is an appealing place that has on display equipment and relics from the early mountaineers. You can also learn more about the Sherpa people and the distinctive flora and fauna of the region.
