Description
Upper mustang previously also known as kingdom of lo is a remote and isolated northern part of the mustang region. The centuries old cave, culture and ancient monasteries are a must explore things of the upper mustang. According to trekkers the upper mustang trek has a difficulty grade of moderate level. It is not as comfortable as the easy treks nor as difficult as the strenuous level trek. Talking about its culture, the culture of the upper mustang is said to resemble the Tibetan culture. Currently, Upper Mustang forms a prime trek destination due to its unique desert-like terrain, its unique history, and culture. One of the main reasons to visit upper mustang is because of the Tiji festival. The Tiji festival is a three day celebration of the victory of good over evil. This festival consists of colorful masks and dresses. This festival is the most auspicious and sacred festival in the upper mustang.

Kathmandu, optional sightseeing around Kathmandu. O/N at Hotel.

Fly Ktm-Pokhara and Transfer to Hotel. O/N at Hotel.

Fly to Jomsom for about 25m. Drive to Kagbeni (2800m/9184ft.), 8 km, 2-3 hour driving. O/N at Hotel.

Drive to Chhuksang (3120m/10234ft) via Muktinath Temple(3800m/12,350ft), 16 K,3-4 hrs. If we do additional drive would be additional in distance and time. O/N at Hotel/Lodge.

Drive from Chhuksang to Ghami (3520m/11546ft),16 Km, 5-6 hrs.

Drive to Dragmar Then Hike to Ghar Gompa approx. 2-3 hour then drive to Tsarang (3560m/11677ft), about 1 hour. O/N at Hotel/Lodge.

Morning drive to Lo Manthang via about an hour extra drive to the high pastures to visit/explore the semi nomadic yak herders and their camps. The shaggy beasts feed on the rich summer grass providing milk, butter and cheese which is sold in the towns and villages. Afternoon will participate to watch the Tiji festival. O/N at Hotel/Lodge.
