10 DAYS GHOREPANI POONHILL TREK (2023)

Carlos decided to trek annapurna region and this is going to be their first trek to Nepal. Immediately after getting this confirmation, i organized a trekking crew. I communicated with my colleague to arrange ACAP Fee and TIMS Card, a.k.a  trekking permit. I confirmed round airfare ticket KTM-PKR-KTM, airport pick up, hotel reservations and everything in advance. All were done within days, also insurance was done for trek crew members. All was set from my end.

We landed in Pokhara, and after drove to Naya Pool for about an hour and half then trek to Tikhedhunga for about 3 hours. The suspension bridge of Tikhedhunga is one of the major highlights. The steep ascends with well over 3000 steps on the stone staircase leading up to Ulleri village was another excitement. The next day we wil be ascending via Banthanti, Nange Thanti for about 6-7 hours. As walking through higher and higher into the enthralling presence of the Annapurna peaks, Carlos and his family enjoyed the picturesque landscape and were treated to breathtaking fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchre) and Annapurna south views.

Carlos's-Adventure

Early morning we hike for about an hour up Poon Hill (3210m) to watch the mountain glow over the surrounding Himalayas! With a sip of hot tea, we enjoyed being treated to the huge array of majestic mountains. Such as Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Lamjung Himal and Machhapuchchhre ( Fishtail). After spending enough time with the beautiful panoramic mountain glow or sunrise, we head back down to the lodge in Ghorepani for a well-deserved breakfast before heading on to Tadapani.

I mentioned Carlos and the family that there will be 3-4 hours hike to explore Ghandruk village one of the largest gurung village. I explained that he can expect warm hospitality from the gurung family, interact with them, and have a good best meal. We will be staying overnight there. Before the dinner we were gossiping about how the trail scaled from the scenic silent panoramic mountain view, and then at the end, exploring Gurung hospitality, their friendliness, and welcoming attitude felt like a complete vacation.

He replied, “well, nothing more excites to see and interact with the gurung culture there, My wife already finds this place heaven. What a beautiful country you live in Mani. She really meant it”.

I think their trek is already a memorable one. I was already succeeding to see how satisfying this trek would be. It was worthy for all.

Thank you Carlos.
